DRINKS: Tons of time, restaurants that serve sushi rightfully pair it with Asian beer options: Kirin, Sapporo, Asahi, Hitachino, or even Heineken (not Asian, obvi), but there are definitely some stateside flavors that we think would work with sushi, too:

Stay away from: dark beer, super hoppy IPAs, pilsners (too bitter)
**Remember: It’s about flavor, not cost! So if there’s a great, cheaper beer that you find and you want to try a pairing, you may find something that works really well that isn’t going to cost you.
* Fun fact: Japanese people do not drink sake with sushi traditionally (you wouldn’t drink sake with rice)
